ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST

ikonbldg.jpg

Downtown's oldest building has a rendezvous with the wrecking ball. That's the magnificent Trader Building in the background. I'm confident that the new convention hotel will be every bit as beautiful. Below, local businessmen gawk at the demolition. "Sure wish I had brought my camera," says one.

Indeed, I, too, am certain the new convention hotel will be every bit as beautiful. I mean, after all, in "developing" downtown Norfolk, the city has done such an excellent job in preserving architectural elements and creating buildings of significance...

Right.

I suspect the new hotel would look better covered in milk.

You could almost see me watching out of the 15th floor window of the majestic palatial Dominion building watching the carnage...or maybe I was sleeping its to hard to tell from that vantage point.
