When John McCain opens his mouth, why does he only use his bottom lip? That's the kind of question I hope comes up in the Presidential debates. The Democratic debates have been full of questions that have some distant connection to national issues, however tenuous and trivial. What's the point of that?

There was a minor blogosphere kerfuffle about McCain's teeth recently, his vocal mannerisms are probably tied to the same root cause: McCain, during torture sessions by the North Vietnamese, had many of his teeth broken off at the roots. More info at this link (warning, right-wing blog link):

Don't be sorry! Hell, you used irony - as an Australian, I'm officially proud of you. Don't let those "ooh we didn't win that war" sofa-cushions take that away from you. Australians were in that war too, and they're still pissed off too. It's as if Viet Nam can be used now as a war on irony. Crikey!
