WHAT TO DO

I know that as soon as I turn away, people cross their eyes and stick out their tongues. Don't think I don't know this. I've always known it. And yet, I persevere. Some day, somewhere down the line, I will be rewarded for my perseverance. This I believe.

Some men are deciders, and people cross their eyes and stick out their tongues right to their faces. Other men are perseverers, and people may cross their eyes and stick out their tongues, but they do it in front of their backs.* You're a perseverer, and I admire you in your perseveration.
*did you ever think about how "behind my back" is all wrong? If something was done behind your back, it would be done in front of you. So "in *front* of one's back" is what's meant.
P.S. And some people are pedants.
