LESSONS I EVIDENTLY REFUSE TO LEARN

stream.jpg

Seems like kind of a big "Duh", don't it? I guess that's what comes under the category of Magical Thinking. And the more outrageous the myth, the easier it is to believe. In my next life, I think I'd like to come back as a biscotti. Wait, that's probably plural, isn't it? You're not allowed to come back as more than one thing, I bet.So, a biscotto, then. Anything but a diamond. Because diamonds are forever.

Sometimes these things don't go anywhere. I'm well aware of that. You don't have to tell me. It's a hit-or-miss deal, this spontaneous blogging thing. I've got heartburn from eating biscotti, okay? It threw my rhythm off. Okay, now I'm ready. Over the cliff we go.

Beautiful! And not such a bad lesson, IMHO. Better having worst fears confirmed than undue hopes dashed. That's the secret of cynicism: it produces unexpected joy. At least in the moments when you're not plummeting over the falls.

Thanks, Am-An. I'm going over whether I think I am or not, so I might as well think I am.

What's the matter with you people?! This one definitely deserves a couple dozen comments . . . Siddartha, Zorba the Greek . . . where to start? At any rate, glad you're in the drink -- there's no better place to be!
