THE HAPPY MAN

...and don't it say something that a man could stick out in a crowd because he's happy?

I like this drawing - and your choice of drawing surface. It seems to add to the style you drew in. Makes it seem all warm and happy and fuzzy and innocent in a Rockwellian kind of way. Did you happen to notice what the guy was drinking? I want some. He looks like he's discovered the secret.

happy and happy; this smile says: I'm modern, I'm in control, I wipe my spectacles to have a clear, rational view, I take my seltzer and my pumpernikel regularly every day and it works, it's as simple as that, my closely cropped dome is the magic mountain of civilisation as I narrow my eyeslits to let only a single file of letters ascent, certainly I prefer to live in sepia, there is no telling what mess color may make, the musty decay of paper leaves me unchanged as I am the crowning glory of developed perfection, which anybody with just a minimal use of reason should be able to attest, seeing how economically I placed my self in that sinle, but perfectly adequate beam of pure, cool and above all free (of charge) daylight, and if You say otherwise we'll all know you just don't measure up -

in short, a face that launched a tousand wars

That's such a strong description that it will just have to be the truth.

Well, which is it? You know, I'm just going to back on out of this little argument. It's intra-family, so to speak, and I'll be nothing more than a fifth wheel on the turnip truck. So you two have at it, Alicja and Alicja.

thanks k., You are absolutely right.

I was actually taking aim at a sort of Enlightment Fundamentalism, it refuses to dry up & crumble here, maybe because it can show up in anybody -

so much stuff in a little sketch!
